Ama tu Vida
Be Healthy. Be Active. Love your Life!
The Ama tu Vida campaign promotes health and wellness through year-round activities, events, workshops and more by:
- Organizing local walking groups and 5K walk/run events
- Delivering Healthy Eating Workshops
- Hosting the Ama tu Vida Community Health Fair offering free health screenings and community health resources
Health is more than just the absence of disease. We can all improve our physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being by committing to life-long healthy habits and incorporating disease prevention strategies.
Asthma Management Program
The Asthma Management Program seeks to reduce asthma related emergency room visits and hospitalizations by increasing awareness, providing education, and empowering Latino families to properly self-manage their kids’ Asthma symptoms.
Our Family Reunification work has focused on providing family based, psycho-educational workshops in Spanish to Latino families who have been separated.
Health Promoters Program “Vías de la Salud”
LHI Health Promoters are trained volunteers who are dedicated to helping members of their community prevent illness and access health resources.
Latino Youth Wellness Programs
LHI partners with Identity, Inc. to deliver health and wellness programs for high-risk Latino youth and their families.

Facilitating access to high quality, culturally and linguistically competent health, medical, and human services.
Welcome Back Center of Suburban Maryland
The Welcome Back Center helps internationally trained doctors, nurses and other health professionals to navigate the licensure and certification process for practicing health locally.
